Richard Folland

Richard has worked for the government, private sector and in the non-profit sector on climate change and energy policy and regulation for over a decade. He has been JPMorgan’s London-based advisor on EU energy and environmental policy and regulatory issues since 2007 and he has also worked with numerous other corporate clients, providing consulting advice on UK and European energy markets, international climate change policy, EU and international carbon markets, and on advocacy and political engagement.

Before 2007, Richard was a long-time career diplomat, working overseas in Moscow, Stockholm and Dusseldorf, plus senior policy roles in London. Latterly he worked for the UK Foreign Office (FCO) in London on international energy and climate change issues, leading the FCO’s energy strategy team. In-between times Richard was also Managing Director of Climate Strategies, the academic energy and climate change research organisation.

Richard started working for Inline in April 2014 and became Executive Director in April 2015.

A proud Welshman and rugby fan, Richard spends far too much of his time following the trials and tribulations of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. He is also a music reviewer for the online music and culture magazine, PopMatters.
